Coach Biography

Andrew Hart

​

Andrew is the former Director of Junior Hockey at Haslemere Hockey Club and an experienced hands on coach.  Andrew is currently coaching Guildford Hockey clubs junior goalkeepers, is a member of Maddie Hinch's MH1 Coaching Team, is a county coach for Hampshire DC/AC, coaches with Fortitude and Camp 101.

Andrew has been instrumental in developing junior players to be successful in County selection.  He has a unique approach which blends the core hockey skills required with the performance/development mindset needed for the England Hockey Pathway.  in 2021/22 selection, 7/8 Andrew's junior players were selected for their respective county teams.

Andrew is a keen sportsman, who has a background playing rugby and hockey to a high level.   He has a knack for making training fun and engaging, whilst offering players unique insights  and tailored development.

​

He established #1 Coaching to deliver bespoke, affordable coaching and development for junior players.  Having attended many training camps and coaching sessions, where the coaching was sub standard and the exercise felt like a commercial operation, Andrew decided it was time to offer a meaningful coaching option for children and their parents.  Coaching that is truly about growing a players skills, developing potential and having a lot of fun along the way.

Andrew is currently completing his England Hockey coaching qualifications.  He is Enhanced DBS checked by England Hockey, a certified first aider and also certified in children's safety and welfare
